Hughes Telematics Appoints New Chief Information Officer

Technology industry veteran Dan Speicher will oversee system-wide development of the next generation in telematics solutions

ATLANTA, Nov. 18, 2008 – Hughes Telematics announced it has appointed technology industry veteran Dan Speicher as its new Chief Information Officer. In this role, Speicher will manage infrastructure and overall systems development for the company’s revolutionary next generation telematics architecture.

Specifically, Speicher will manage all aspects of Hughes Telematics’ information technology, and systems development as the company prepares to launch its innovative suite of safety and security, diagnostic, convenience, navigation and infotainment services in Chrysler and Mercedes Benz vehicles.

“Automotive Telematics is an information systems business at its core. Dan’s experience in developing and managing information systems ensures that our services will achieve best in class performance for our customers,” said Erik Goldman, president Hughes Telematics.

Speicher, who most recently served as InfoUSA’s Chief Technology Officer, joins Hughes Telematics with extensive experience in developing information systems and infrastructure. During his 20 year tenure at InfoUSA, Speicher held a variety of positions within the information systems department, including leadership positions in software engineering and product management. His experience also includes the integration of many corporate acquisitions.

Speicher received his BS in MIS from Bellevue University in Bellevue, NE, and has guest lectured to post-graduate engineering students at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
